This is the story of a family and their relationships. An old Indian starts telling us their lives:

First, he introduces the father who is a colonel who fought in the war against the Indians. The mother, who wasn't used to the farm's life, left the family and went back to the city.
The colonel has three sons who stayed in the country with him. Tristan is his favourite son. Tristan's brothers went to the city to study, but he prefered to stay in the farm.
One of his brothers went to the city to study and he met a girl there. The girl decided to go to the farm with him.
The girl seemed to like Tristan in the first meeting and the jealousy between the brothers has start.
